Terms of use
These terms cover the Recce app for iPhone and Recce Team (recce.team), made by Scratch Test LLC ("we", "us"). By using Recce you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Recce.
The subscription
Recce is $4.99 a month (or the local price shown in the App Store), and includes 25 GB of Recce Team cloud storage.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it any time in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If the price changes, Apple tells you before it applies and you can cancel.
Extra storage may be offered on recce.team. If you buy it there, its price and renewal terms are shown before you pay.
Your account
Keep your password, recovery key and devices safe; you're responsible for what happens under your account. For projects with end-to-end encryption we can't open your photos or clips, and we can't recover them if you lose both your password and your recovery key.
Your content
We can't see your content. Projects are end-to-end encrypted: their photos, clips, names, notes, boards, references and LUTs are encrypted on your devices with keys only you and your team hold. (A project made before encryption existed is encrypted from its menu; until then we still don't look at it.) Your photos, clips, notes, boards, LUTs and other material stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them, sync them between your devices, and show them to the people you share a project with or send a link to. We don't use your content to train AI, sell it, or show it to anyone you haven't shared it with.
Only upload what you have the right to use. Many productions are under NDA: you decide who is in each project and who can download, and you're responsible for sharing within your agreements.
Acceptable use
Don't use Recce to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload malware, harass people, or get into accounts, projects or systems that aren't yours. Don't overload or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
Storage
Storage counts against the subscriber who owns each project. If a subscription ends, you can still sign in, view and download your projects, but new uploads may stop until you renew or free up space. You can download your data or delete your account at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and availability
Recce will change as we improve it. We'll give notice of material changes to these terms in the app or by email; using Recce after that means you accept them. We aim to keep Recce Team available but can't promise it will never be down. If we ever shut it down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice and a way to download your projects.
Disclaimers and liability
Recce is a planning tool. Its exposure, framing, lens, sun and color tools are estimates; check them against your camera and on set. Recce is provided "as is", without warranties, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Scratch Test LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
Apple
These terms are between you and Scratch Test LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Recce or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use of the app also follows the App Store's Usage Rules.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, except where your local law says otherwise.
